The last time I traveled out of the country, things were sure a lot easier than they are now. It took me forever to get through customs, and at one point I was afraid they were going to take my laptop and hold it for an unspecified amount of time.

Did you know that the border guards have the power to decide to take your laptop away, take it somewhere offsite, and basically study everything you have on it for an "unspecified amount of time"?

All without reasonable suspicion of anything. Man, freedom is becoming an endangered species in this country! I can't believe the things the government gets away with under the guise of "protecting us from our enemies."

Sometimes I think our biggest enemy is sitting in Washington, dreaming up new ways to control us. Hopefully we're going to enter a new era next January.

But anyway, I digress
